Events We RSVP’d To: Create & Cultivate Dallas

“Collaboration over competition”: it’s one of our strongest beliefs, and it’s also the ethos behind Create & Cultivate! C&C came to Dallas for an afternoon of hands-on learning, connection and entrepreneurial advice, and we were fortunate enough to attend. The day kicked off with a live pitch competition, in which three female founders pitched their businesses to a panel of experts for a chance to win a $10,000 small business grant plus 100,000 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles. The panel was moderated by Ginger Siegel, the North America Small Business Lead at Mastercard, and the other judges included entrepreneur Riana Lynn, content creator Tanya Marie, and our founder Laila Dar. The winner of the competition, who blew everyone away with her inspiring mission, was Paulana Lamonier of Black People Will Swim.

After the pitch competition, Create & Cultivate hosted a panel on all things business planning, finance, strategy, marketing plans, calendar planning and more. Reesa Lake, the Head of Creator Expansion at LTK, moderated the panel of female founders, which included Wanda Muzak, the founder of Kay & Kai; Camille Styles, the founder of Camille Styles & Casa Zuma; and Arielle Offers, the founder of The Southern Influence. We learned a lot about how to stay organized and get ready for a profitable 2023.

The afternoon wrapped up with a fun networking happy hour, courtesy of Wander + Ivy. Overall, it was a fun and engaging event, and we can’t wait for Create & Cultivate to come back to our city! If you want to watch the event for yourself, just head over to Create & Cultivate’s website.
